Bumble Bee Attendance

This is a fun and easy way to take attendance when your students come into the classroom.  Group each student's name to a bee and when they come in to class, they move their bee into the hive.  The leftover bees are your students that are absent/tardy.  Click HERE to download Bumble Bee Attendance.  Enjoy!

The Elves are Here for Christmas!

We all know without the help of Santa's elves, we couldn't have Christmas.  Thank Jolly Ole' Saint Nick for those pointy-eared little guys.  It's a wonder how they do such wonderful things with those tiny little hands!  Now they're helping me spread Christmas cheer to classrooms around the world in the Elves Smartboard Game.
With presents in tow, Santa drops down the chimney and drops off a gift for all the good boys and girls so I sure hope you made the "Nice" list this year.  In the Elves game, the gift is your answer.  After guessing the answer, open the gift by pulling up on the top of the box to reveal the answer.  I've added a couple adorable little animations to this game to help with the holiday fun.  Click HERE to download a copy of the Elves Christmas Game.  If you have any questions, please email me.  Enjoy!

Mike Myers...also Hilarious!

Synonymous with funny is another SNL alum- Mike Myers.  I'm awful with accents, but quoting Charlie from So I Married an Axe Murderer is something I do quite often.  The many faces of Mike Myers can be seen in the Austin Powers movies, The Love Guru, Wayne's World, Cat in the Hat, and many others.  Along with Will Ferrell, you can also enjoy Mike Myers in your classroom with this Mike Myers Smartboard game!
Take your questions from Dr. Evil and sure enough Mini Me has an answer for you.  In true Mini Me style, it's not the most conventional way of giving an answer.  Grouping again is necessary on this game.  For those of you new to the SMART board, I will be posting a video to show how to use the group/ungroup command.  Click HERE to download my Mike Myers Game!  Enjoy!

Will Ferrell is Hilarious!

One of the funniest comics in SNL history has to be Will Ferrell.  We've seen him in Night at the Roxbury, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and so many other films that have made us laugh.  Now you can laugh as you play this SMART board game built around the characters that have brought us to tears (of laughter) so many times.
In my Will Ferrell game, you will choose one of the beloved characters and answer a question screamed from the mouth of Ricky Bobby.  Pull down his helmet shade to reveal the answer!  This is such a fun game.  It was a lot of fun to make.  You will need to use the group/ungroup commands to apply the answer to the helmet shade.  Click HERE to download your copy of my Will Ferrell Smartboard Game!  Enjoy!

Nutcracker Christmas

Every year after Thanksgiving, we start preparing for the next big holiday- Christmas. This is a time for giving, a time for family and friends, and a time to refresh and renew for the coming year. As a school teacher, I know there is very little time to incorporate these holiday activities as most of us will be on Christmas break a week or more before the day actually comes so I have to start early to get out my holiday activities. The first of many is my Nutcracker Christmas Game.

This is a fun pull-tab style game.  You will need to use grouping to group the answer to the pull-tab by selecting the tab and your answer and holding Ctrl+G.  Click HERE to download my Nutcracker Christmas Game. Enjoy!

Monsters, Inc.

Thanks to Alyssa Anderson from St. Francis Area School District in Wisconsin for this suggestion.  If you don't recognize this, it's from Monsters, Inc.  You never know what's going to be behind the doors that you open.  This is a one-pager that can be used to kill that extra few minutes at the end of class when you've burnt through your lesson.  Instead of scrambling to find something to do, have the students choose their fate.  In my Language Arts class, I might have "independent reading," "Boggle," "Scrabble," "Student's Choice," or "Teacher's Choice."  If you run into the problem of the door not returning after it has exited the screen, you can find extra doors in the attachment tab.  My suggestion is to move the door, enter the text, and then replace the door rather than clicking on the door, allowing it for it to exit the screen and not return.  Click HERE for your copy of Monsters, Inc. Doors.  Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my loyal Mr. Smart Trainees!  I hope you're looking forward to this vacation as much as I am.  Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, football, and a long-overdue NAP!!!  I love this time of year.  My wife loves the Black Friday shopping!  We've been looking at the sale ads for a couple weeks already.
One thing you won't have to buy and can get right here is this year's Thanksgiving SMART board game!  This is an easy game to set up.  Click on the tree to reveal the answer (You will have to move the tree out of the way to enter your answer and move it back to hide it).  The turkey on the menu page will take you to a scoreboard, and the "Happy Thanksgiving" banner will take you to a message from Mr. Smart Trainer.  Click HERE to enjoy your copy of my Thanksgiving Game! Enjoy!

Twilight: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

With Breaking Dawn coming out in theaters, the Twilight books are flying off my classroom shelves.  This is the Twilight SUPER game.  It seems like a clear 50-50 split between Team Edward and Team Jacob.  I don't want anyone to think I'm partial one way or the other, so I made a version for each!  And, if you like the bad vampires, I made a game for you too! Type your question in the mouth on each page.  Close the vampire teeth to reveal the answer.  Type your answer on the box and group with the tab (Select both tab and text, hold Ctrl+G). Click Here if you are Team Edward!

Last, but certainly not least, the triple play- CLICK HERE to download all 3-in-1!  Enjoy!

Penguins Penguins Everywhere

Get on your dancing shoes, I hope you have some Happy Feet. The weather outside is about to get frightful, and Happy Feet 2 is on it's way to theaters. This is a fun wintertime game.  It is the result of a suggestion by a Wisconsin teacher. Thanks for the great idea!

It's a hide and reveal game so no grouping is necessary.  Click here for your copy of my penguin game.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to very quickly thank everyone who has visited my blog and downloaded my resources.  Keep it up and Enjoy!

Guac-a-mole

Anyone who has visited the SMART Exchange has undoubtedly seen the Whackamole game that is always atop the list of top downloads.  A colleague of mine was using that game in her math class which had some ESL students in it. At the end of the class, one of the students asked her, "When are we going to play that guacamole game again?" When she told me that story, this game jumped in my head- I had to make it! It is a very simple game.

No grouping required! Make sure you cycle back through your question slides to allow the avacado top to return. Click here to download your copy of my guacamole game today! Enjoy!

Coming in to Roast...I Mean Roost

I know, I know... Turkey time, not chicken time, is coming!  I couldn't help myself.  This is a fun little game to play with your class.  Who doesn't love a good rubber chicken?  Well, I found a really neat one at Pier 1 that you can throw at your board for this game!  When you squeeze it, an egg pops out! Funny?  Gross?  Who am I to judge?  With this game, you use a ball (or chicken) to hit one of the pictures on the board to send you to a question.

You do have to use the group command (Ctrl+G) to group your answer to your pull tab.  When a question is answered correctly, pull the piece hit on the menu board to the chicken coop (Caution: it will no longer be available after you drop it in the chicken coop so make sure you SAVE!!).  There will be some other games, more appropriate for Turkey Day, coming up soon.  In the words of Chic-fil-A, "Eat More Chikin!"  Enjoy!
